Alaska Public Lands Information Center

Plan your trip, explore exhibits, watch Alaskan movies The Anchorage Alaska Public Lands Information Center is a year-round facility welcoming nearly 80,000 visitors, locals, and students a year. Located in Anchorage's historic Federal Building, the center hosts exhibits representing natural, historical, and cultural features throughout the state. Wandering among the exhibits, visitors get a mini-tour of Alaska. One can also find a wealth of information about recreating on public lands in the state, as well as materials for educators to bring back to their classrooms. The Anchorage Center has it all!

In 1980, when former President Jimmy Carter signed into creation many National Parks in Alaska, he also created four Public Lands Information Centers. No other states in the nation have these centers. They provide information and resources to develop the most educational and memorable visitor experiences.

Summer Hours: Memorial Day to Labor Day Open daily: 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m. Open on federal holidays (Through the month of September open Monday - Friday: 9-5)

Winter Hours: Begin December 9th Tuesday - Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Closed on all federal holidays.
